Prospective singers who would like to sing with the Berlin Cathedral Choir should have a good singing voice; ideally, they should also have choral experience and be able to read music.
Along with the Oratorienchor, the Berlin Cathedral Choir is comprised of the Kammerchor, the Motettenchor and other Project Choirs. All choirs sing regularly services and concerts at the Berlin Cathedral and at other locations.
The Choir Director Adrian Büttemeier decides who will be admitted to the Berlin Cathedral Choir. Auditions take place on Mondays in the Sophie-Charlotte-Saal of the Berlin Cathedral. Enter through Portal 2, Lustgarten side, by ringing the bell for the “Pförtner”.
In the Oratorio Choir: weekly rehearsals (Mondays, 7:00–9:30 pm), approx. 2 rehearsal weekends, approx. 6 services, and approx. 3 concert projects
In the Chamber Choir: weekly rehearsals (Tuesdays, 7:00–9:00 pm), approx. 2 rehearsal weekends, approx. 6 services, approx. 3 concert projects, and one concert tour
In the Motet Choir: approx. 2 liturgical projects and approx. 2 concert projects
In the Women’s Choir: approx. 2 liturgical projects
In the Schola: approx. 2 liturgical projects
